About me
Hi! I am Roberto, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Bayesian Statistics at the Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics “Bruno de Finetti” of the University of Trieste. My research focuses on the development and application of Bayesian statistical methods, with particular interest in borrowing historical information, replication studies, variable selection, survival analysis, and sports analytics.
I obtained both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Calabria. I then earned a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from the University of Padova, under the supervision of Prof. Nicola Torelli and Prof. Leonardo Egidi. My doctoral dissertation focused on Bayesian methods for borrowing historical information.
During my Ph.D., I was a visiting research scholar at the Athens University of Economics and Business under the supervision of Prof. Ioannis Ntzoufras, and at the University of Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Leonhard Held. More recently, I was a visiting researcher at Aalto University, working with the Bayesian Workflow Group under the supervision of Prof. Aki Vehtari.
